Valerie Wouters

Hello, my name is Valerie and I graduated from KUL in 2021 with a masters degree in rehabilitation sciences and physiotherapy, specializing in neurological disorders. With some previous experience working as a rehabilitation physiotherapist at AZ Sint-Maarten Mechelen, I was already able to work with a diverse range of neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, spinal cord injury and more.

I value patient-centered care and like to ensure that people get extensive care, while also feeling actively involved and supported. Watching patients progress towards better function, overall well-being and independence, is very fulfilling. It also motivates me to continue learning and develop myself professionally. I am especially fascinated by hydrotherapy and hope to implement it into my sessions one day.

When I’m not working you can find me in the swimming pool, dance studio or on the indoor football field with my friends in the lively city of Brussels. Recently, I have also discovered the joys of traveling by visiting some parts of Southeast Asia and look forward to uncovering more of the world.

As I look forward to start as a physiotherapist at Waves, know that my dedication is as strong as my love for cheese (and that is saying something)!
