Femke Rits
Femke is a physiotherapist at Waves in general physiotherapy and manages our clinical gym.
Since completing her Master degree at KUL in Physiotherapy and Movement Sciences (Sports Physiotherapy) in 2020 she has been working closely alongside Bavo, Katina & Sarah. She is an excellent physiotherapist and is specialising more in targeting exercise testing & prescription for a range of health conditions. This includes cancer, cardiorespiratory and metabolic diseases alongside her musculoskeletal knowledge.
As a strong believer in the biopsychosocial model of health, Femke takes a holistic yet detailed approach to your health needs and personal goals. She is regularly doing extra courses in exercise and manual therapy techniques, but also behaviour change and active support principles.
Femke’s passion for movement began when she started Karate at 8 years old. Through both competing and teaching, she has witnessed the importance of the synergy between the body and the mind, and our connection to movement and body control. She has been coaching exclusive youth competition Karate (kata) since she was 15 years old, including coaching a World Champion.
Despite Femkes elite sport background, she is most passionate about supporting the every day person. She is keen to lead by example and loves to jog, do Crossfit and cycle. She also loves to be creative, bullet journaling, making photo albums, embroidery and knitting in her spare time.
