Why He Does What He Does
His motivation comes from a deep passion for helping people regain control over their own health. He aims to encourage self-management so that patients can restore or enhance their overall quality of life in the long term. As someone who personally loves sport and being physically active, he uses that enthusiasm to motivate his patients. He values teamwork and believes in clear communication, both with colleagues and patients. By actively listening, providing tailored education, and considering the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of each case, he strives to build strong and trusting relationships. He gains the most energy from guiding patients through active recovery and seeing them achieve their personal goals. Continuous learning and upskilling are part of what keeps his profession exciting and challenging.
Fun Facts About Arne
Outside of work, Arne has a creative side — he played the violin intensively for 10 years and still picks it up occasionally. Originally from Antwerp, he humorously says he “accidentally got stuck” in Leuven. Arne is preparing for a marathon next year and will soon return to playing indoor soccer in the LZV Cup, a sport he already practiced during his studies. Alongside his role at WAVES, he also works part-time at Magnus Physiotherapy. He enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, road tripping, and discovering good food.
