Lena’s background

Born and raised in Leuven, Lena has always been someone who enjoys a new challenge. After choosing to study occupational therapy outside Leuven to experience student life, she went on to build a varied career spanning 46 years. From managing cafés and working as a stylist for television shows and drama series to exploring real estate abroad, she has worn many different hats. Back in Belgium, she moved into customer service at several major companies, progressing from credit controller to process facilitator and, for the last 20 years of her career, project manager. Now retired, Lena brings her wealth of experience and people skills to Waves, where you can find her at the front desk.

Why she does what she does

After enjoying Pilates classes at Waves herself, Lena joined the front desk team in March 2026. Having recently retired, she wanted to stay active, keep contributing, and spend time in a place she enjoys. She loves the idea of sharing her experience and expertise in customer service while helping create a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through the door. And of course, having a little fun along the way is part of the plan!

Fun facts about Lena

Lena is a big fan of all things beautiful, whether that means clothes, architecture, cities, faraway places, or a memorable concert. She is particularly fond of dance performances, with Akram Khan and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui among her favourites. For Lena, beauty can also be found in a great conversation and the friendships that grow from it.
